EFN is a Norwegian non-profit civil liberties organization (NGO) working to protect and promote digital civil rights and public goods, such as freedom of expression, privacy, freedom from surveillance, free culture and knowledge commons, open standards, user-driven software, the use of open media formats on the net, the right to access, copy and share knowledge and culture, the strengthening of civic society and its conditions and constituents, and more. Inspired by the Electronic Frontier Foundation in the USA, EFN was founded January 19, 1995.
